Cheaters’ days are numbered…
30 November 2009

Today we launch our blog together with a new version of the games platform, Our.com. This new version includes features that have been highly demanded by many of you, such as:

Anti-Cheating System
The games will not calculate scores when playing against users that are NOT registered. It is also not permitted to play in the same game with users that have the same IP.
We have also added several options for limiting the users that can join your game.

Karma
Karma measures your level of honesty as a player. Generally speaking, someone with a high karma level won't leave a game even if they are losing. Karma is represented by an icon associated to each player. The Karma levels are as follows:

Angel (karma higher than or equal to 100)
Very honest (karma between 60 and 100)
Honest (karma between 15 and 60)
Neutral (karma between -15 and 15)
Cheater (karma between -60 and -15)
Big cheater (karma between -100 and -60)
Devil (karma less than -100

Every time you properly finish a game your karma points will increase based on the duration of the game.
When you incorrectly leave a game your karma points will decrease considerably based on the duration of the game.

Anti-Leaving System
To stop your opponents from leaving the game before it has finished, we have added a new Anti-Leaving system to the platform
When a player leaves a game which is not allowed to be left, the rest of the players in the game are asked if the user deserves to be punished for it. The result of the vote determines whether or not the user is punished, taking away a certain amount of karma points from them, which will depend on the duration of the game. Also, when a player is punished, it is shown in their game statistics as having left a game.

Private games
We have added a series of options to the platform for limiting the players that can join your game.
When a game is set up, a password can be defined that new players who want to join the game should know, so that you decide who enters and who doesn't.
You can also stop Non-registered users from joining the game by simply selecting the corresponding option when you set up your game.
Lastly, you can specify the Karma level necessary for a user to be able to join your game.

Invite other players to your game
Now you can directly invite other users to the game you have set up.
If you invite someone to a game that requires a password, they can directly join the game without having to know the password. If you invite someone who does not meet the game requirements, that person cannot join the game.

Anti-Bad Manners System
If you insult or write too fast in the chat you will be expelled for a limited amount of time.  If you continue, the punishment could be worse.

Private Chat
Now you can have private conversations with other users both in the games and in global chat.
We have improved the window system to automatically order chat windows when they are minimised, and so that you are notified if you receive a new message.
Private chat is not allowed between players from the same game. To speak with them you can use the public chat which all players of the game can read.
If anyone annoys you, you can always mark them as ignored or report abuse from their profile. If someone is marked as ignored they cannot challenge you, invite you, nor send you private or public chat messages.

Play on your web page
You can include all the Our.com games on your webpage so that visitors to your site can play from there. In each game your will see an “Embed” button in the lower right-hand corner. Click on it and it will show you the code you need to add the game to your page.

Other New Features for games
Now you can:

-Order users by age, sex, country, etc.
-Show the list of users of any game in “simple” mode or "master" mode.
-Show detailed information on any game.
-Show statistics of the user in a game.
